We have had a week of many thunder storms here in Central Oregon. They always have the fire crews camped out at the Redmond Airport because that is the central departure point for wild land fire fighters. They responded to 34 fires started by lightening on Thursday. Friday the storms continued to rumble overhead but there were not as many strikes or fires.
On Saturday there was a strike near the barn where I train and where I keep Billy. All of the horses were in an uproar and he cut his head bouncing around in his pen. It didn't require stitches but he much have been pretty scared to have hit himself that hard. Saturday afternoon the chemical bombers that dump retardant on the fires were still making runs from the airport.
Hope Billy heals up quickly!
