Spring Things

Spring has sprung at least for the past two days. It will turn cold again before real summer gets here but that is how it is on the high desert. We have had light snow on the 4th of July but we break out the shorts and tank tops when it does get up into the 80s. I am enjoying the slight sunburn from yard work yesterday. We are finally after 5 years getting some good plants in the flower beds but will need to watch for dipping temps and cover then up when they happen.

 

Emma had this year's dance recital last Friday night. She practices all the time at home with Sara and ends up having quite a stage presence when the performance comes.

Emma visited the Elementary school where she will be going to Kindergarten next year. They met teachers, looked over the room and bulletin boards, saw other incoming students, but when they got in the car Emma told Kim that there was no way she was going in that building again. When her mom asked why she said, " I can tell already that it is going to be way too much homework!"  Oh my, just like her mother was.

Emma and her friend Hannah. Gotta love those sausage curls. They and 5 other little girls did a tap dance and pantomime to the tune of "Playmate, Come Out and Play With Me.
