NMGO

This title was recommended by Snookie when Not Much is Going On. It is still too cold to get out and do much. It snowed yesterday, about an inch but melted right away in the 40-something temps. Yes, that is still too cold to do anything outside! The killer is the wind. The wind chill factor makes my hands go numb!

I have found a trainer that will be working with me and my horse, Reba. I am starting from the ground up to make her into a good trail horse. She has only had the training I gave her last year and I want to make sure I do it right and completely. Fran Robertson of Little Remuda Ranch in Bend helped me train my horse, Sophie, of three years ago for the 100 mile trail ride I went on from Asotin, WA to Joseph, OR. You can google Little Remuda Ranch if you want to.
I sold Sophie because a few months after the trip I tore off my right ACL (right knee ligament) and was told I couldn't ride for a year and had to be in a brace until the ligament reattached and healed. It would have required a ligament tansplant and they don't do those on anyone over 50.
I didn't want Sophie to stand unridden for a year and lose all her training. She was purchased by a woman in Camp Sherman, OR who takes her to lots of horse clinics and really likes her. We stay in touch about 4 times a year.

Tom has not gotten in many hours working as a golf starter at Pronghorn because it is so cold and windy that everyone is cancelling their tee times. He did rebuild the back ramp on my old one horse trailer. It was in desperate condition.

I have been going through things and have four huge bags for Good Will. After living for 5 months in an RV I wonder why I have kept so much stuff. I have also crocheted two spring sweaters for the grand girls.

Just hunkering down and praying for the warmth of spring to show up!

  1. Hi. I'm so glad to see you are back on the blog site. I found you from LaVon's link. We are both hard at work and tired all the time. Hmmm. Sounds like all winter except that we are actually getting paid!!

  2. Hi Sharon,
Happy to hear your having such nice times with your horse. It makes me jealous, missing mine. Have lots of fun!
